Dr. Michael S. Dee attributes his passion for sports medicine to the enjoyment he found during his time spent in construction in his youth. When entering medicine, he knew he wanted something equally demanding which he found working with summer and collegiate athletes. He is currently the team physician with the Australian winter olympic team.
The Utah native attended Bonneville High School and Weber State University before serving a Cambodian-speaking LDS church mission to San Diego. Upon his return he completed his undergraduate and medical degrees in Utah, then completed his surgical internship at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA. Next he traveled to the University of Nebraska/ Creighton University Health Foundation to complete an orthopedic residency, followed by his fellowship training in orthopedic sports medicine in San Diego.
Dr. Dee and his wife have returned to Utah to raise their three children and enjoy all of the outdoor activities the state has to offer. He especially enjoys hunting and fishing.
